Employment Services

Our 245D Employment Services specialists provide 3 stages of employment services: Exploration, Development and Support. Our program provides a person-centered approach that involves the consumer from start to finish to engage in new integrated employment opportunities. These services focus on skills to find, obtain and maintain employment in the community.

Independent Lifestyles Inc is a Limited Use Vendor for the Employment First Development “Find” phase. Case managers should work with their region’s Vocational Rehabilitation partner to submit a referral for this phase if appropriate.

Our Independent Living Specialist and Designated Coordinator will work with the individual served to create a plan that focuses on the person’s wants under the following categories:

Exploration

Services that help a person gain a better understanding of competitive, integrated employment opportunities in their community. Exploration activities and experiences strengthen a person’s knowledge, interests and preferences so they can make informed decisions about competitive employment.

Development

Individualized services designed to help a person achieve competitive, integrated employment, become self-employed or establish a microenterprise business in their community.

Support

Individualized services and supports that help people maintain paid employment in community businesses/settings. Employment support services occur in integrated community settings.
